Video Archive, 2004-
Studies in Sculpture contains dozens of film excerpts capturing sculptural gestures; the series is predominantly based on films from the second half of the 1980s. In the videos, new attitudes towards objects are emerging: with the completion of the assault on labor, commodities become the world itself. The project reflects on art-making in the current zero growth economy, moving from 1980s artists-as-consumers, to 1990s artists-as-producers, to 2000s artists-as-archivists and/or -researchers.
